Now, these aren’t your average shrimp. Royal Reds are sweet, tender, and a little bit buttery—almost like lobster if lobster had grown up in the South. And the crew at Royal Rednecks knows exactly what to do with them. From Old Bay garlic shrimp tacos to chipotle-sauced versions that pack a smoky punch, these tacos have locals lining up and licking their fingers.
“We just wanted to bring something different to Destin,” the owners said. “Food that feels like home but still surprises you a little.”
And they’ve done just that. Alongside their signature shrimp dishes, the truck also serves up a rotating mix of jambalaya fried rice balls, breakfast tacos, walkin’ tacos, and even bulgogi tacos that nod to Korean barbecue—Southern meets street food in all the best ways.
They opened up with a bang this past June, offering free samples of crab dip, banana pudding, and crispy fried rice balls to anyone curious enough to wander over. It didn’t take long for the buzz to build. These days, their little corner near the beach feels more like a neighborhood hangout—folding chairs, happy chatter, and plenty of folks coming back for seconds. One local dad laughed, “My kids begged me to bring them back the next day. That Frito pie taco did them in.”
