Refreshing Summer Cocktails

No. 1 ROB ROY
Description: A classic cocktail similar to a Manhattan, but made with Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey instead of bourbon or rye.
History: The Rob Roy cocktail is believed to have been created in the late 19th century and is named after the Scottish folk hero Rob Roy MacGregor.
Recipe:
2 oz Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey
1 oz sweet vermouth
2 dashes of Angostura bitters
Cherry for garnish
Fill a mixing glass with ice. Add Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. Stir well to combine and chill. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.

No. 2 APPLE PIE MARTINI
Description: A sweet and spiced cocktail that captures the flavors of apple pie, made with apple pie rum, apple liqueur, cinnamon schnapps, and cream.
Recipe:
2 1/2 oz Timber Creek apple pie rum
1 oz bourbon cream
Cinnamon sugar for rimming the glass (optional)
Apple slice and (or) lemon slice for garnish
Rim a chilled martini glass with cinnamon sugar (optional). Fill a shaker with ice.
Add apple pie rum and cream. Shake well and strain into the prepared martini
glass. Garnish with an apple slice and (or) lemon slice.

No. 3 RUM PUNCH
Description: A fruity and tropical cocktail made with rum, fruit juices, and often enhanced with grenadine or other flavorings.
History: Rum Punch has a rich history dating back to the 17th century in the Caribbean. It was originally created as a way to mask the taste of unpalatable ingredients. Rum Punch variations have since spread across the globe.
Recipe:
1 oz Timber Creek rum
1 oz orange juice
1 oz pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine
Dash of lime juice
Dash of bitters (optional)
Orange slice and cherry for garnish
Fill a shaker with ice. Add rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine, lime juice, and bitters (if using). Shake well and strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange slice and cherry.

No. 4 TIMBER CREEK MOJITO
Description: A refreshing and minty cocktail made with rum, lime juice, sugar, soda water, and fresh mint leaves.
History: The Mojito is believed to have originated in Cuba in the 16th century and gained popularity as a classic Cuban cocktail. It has since become a beloved rum-based cocktail worldwide.
Recipe:
2 oz Timber Creek rum
1 oz lime juice
2 teaspoons sugar
6-8 fresh mint leaves
Soda water
Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish
In a Collins glass, muddle the mint leaves and sugar. Add lime juice and rum. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Top with soda water. Stir gently and garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig.

No.5 CLARIFIED MILK PUNCH
Description: This cocktail requires commitment, as preparation begins a day in advance of consumption. With its velvety texture and hint of citrus notes, it is well worth the wait.
History: Popular in eighteenth century England, the fist milk punch recipe dates back to 1838, and was a favorite of Queen Victoria.
Recipe:
2 lemons, zest and juice
1 orange, zest and juice
1/2 pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch cubes
1 cup sugar
3 whole cloves
10 coriander seeds
1 cinnamon stick
1 whole star anise
1/2 cup brewed green tea
2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup cognac
1/2 cup Timber Creek white rum
1/2 cup Timber Creek dark rum
1/2 cup Smith & Cross
1/3 cup Batavia Arrack
2 cups whole milk
Add the lemon zest and juice, orange zest and juice, pineapple, sugar, and spices to a large mixing bowl.
Muddle the sugar and fruit together. Add the green tea and boiling water and stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Add the spirits and mix.
In a separate large mixing bowl, add the whole milk. Then pour the punch mixture into the milk and stir. The mixture will curdle. Let sit for about 30 minutes and strain through a fine mesh sieve lined with a coffee filter. There will still be some cloudy solids after the first straining. Pass the mixture through the same lined sieve again).
At this point it should be almost entirely clear. If any cloudy bits remain, strain one more time. Transfer to bottles or jars and store in the refrigerator.
Pour about 1/2 cup into a glass with ice. You can garnish with a lemon peel, flower or fresh nutmeg if you like.

No. 6 PENICILLIN
Description: A modern and complex cocktail made with Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey, honey-ginger syrup, lemon juice, and a peaty Scotch float.
History: The Penicillin cocktail was created by bartender Sam Ross in 2005 and has since gained recognition as a modern classic.
Recipe:
2 oz Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey
3/4 oz honey-ginger syrup
3/4 oz lemon juice
Peaty Scotch float
Candied ginger for garnish
Fill a shaker with ice. Add Timber Creek Florida single malt whiskey, honey-ginger syrup, and lemon juice. Shake well. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Float a small amount of peaty Scotch on top.
Garnish with candied ginger.
